IamHere – Your Hyperlocal Social Network

IamHere is a hyperlocal social network to discover, connect and engage in the neighbourhood for hobby, interest or profession. By bringing together people, businesses and NGOs and giving them a platform of chats, stories and events, we are breaking the neighbourhood boundaries.

Your neighbourhood in your fingertips

Circles are interest-based communities of people, professionals, businesses and NGOs in your neighbourhood. Explore stories, events and social campaigns near you.

Post Stories and engage within your interest Circles

We have simplified the interactions for you in your neighbourhood, while making sure one message does not crowd your inbox. We have image and text stories that make engagement interest-driven rather than message-driven.

Join interest-based Circles near you

Are you a pet lover wanting to connect with pet owners nearby? Or a book reader wanting to exchange with bibliophiles nearby? Or want to build a socio-professional engagement for your organization? IamHere Circles are for you.

FAQs

Circle is an interest-based community of people, professionals, businesses and NGOs, either within your neighbourhood (e.g. pets, books) or within a closed network (e.g. college, company).

You join a circle through an Avatar. An Avatar is your identity for your hobby, interest or profession that people can use to discover and connect with you. You can join only through pre-approved people, business, event or NGO categories within a circle. New categories can be requested if needed, at the time of Avatar creation. They will be available to you once approved.

Your user profile has information about the Circles / Avatars you have. Avatars display the information you have entered at the time of Avatar creation (e.g. name, location, photo, stories). Your phone number is hidden from other users if you have created a People (Hobby / Profession) Avatar, phone number is visible only for Business, Event or NGO Avatar. Similarly, the full text address is visible only for Businesses, Events and NGOs and not for People Avatars.

You will typically land on the wall of the circle when you enter a circle of your interest. You can create a post by using the “write” button within the circle’s wall. A story can be either an image or text. Text stories are used to start a discussion or ask a question. We recommend you to create an Avatar before creating a story, so people can discover and connect with you easily.

Yes, neighbourhood circles are open circles. You can post a story in any open circle without joining it as long as you stick to the interest of the circle. You may not be able to create a story within a closed circle if the circle permissions do not allow you to post unless you join the circle.

You can search for people, businesses, events or NGOs either within circles or through “Quick Neighbourhood Searches” available in the Home page.

Yes, you can chat with people through the in-app chat feature. Calls are allowed only for Businesses, Events and NGOs. Please note that users can block someone if found inappropriate. When many users start blocking, you may be blacklisted on the app.

You need to write to us (option available through the menu) to create a closed circle for your community.

Posts within closed circles are moderated by the admins. Posts within open neighbourhood circles are self-moderated by the community members through the “report” option.

Yes, both Android and iOS have Avatars, chats, search, stories and events for people, professionals, businesses and NGOs. But Circles are available only in Android as of now.

The basic profile creation, listing and posting are free. You can use the promotions option to reach more users.

You will appear on the map when you have "Show on map" selected in your Avatar settings. You can edit this from the profile page.

If you see your Avatar on the map and want to claim it, or if you have changed your login credentials and want to associate your Avatar with your new credentials, you can use the "Claim Avatar" option.

Every activity you do on the app to help your neighbourhood or community will fetch you Karma points. Once you reach a threshold, you can redeem the points against attractive coupons or use your points to donate to NGOs of your choice.

You can delete your profile from the Logout option within the profile menu by selecting the "Delete account" option. This will delete all your data and cannot be reversed.
